1. erehwyna asked: hi there! my girlfriends and i are doing a weekend in denver in 2 weeks. between my sister and my best friend (locals) we've got the lay of the land down pat but i'd love to mine your thoughts on your favorite restaurants? d-town is always a blast - so many great spots to check out - but since you're pretty fabulous and a favorite of mine, i'd love to hear your take... xo

    Hi lovee-

Of course I would be happy to share some of my favorites-

I have a tendency to gravitate towards more unique, off-the-beaten path type atmospheres. You’ve been warned (in a good way).

Ototo- By far one of the best meals I have ever had. H and I selected it for a dinner with my Momma and her boyfriend when they were in town visiting. It (was) located down on Pearl by DU. Upon a little research for you, I’ve discovered they are closed indefinitely. This just about brought tears to my eyes.

Root Down (lohi)- I’ll admit I haven’t been here, but it’s been on my to-do list for far too long. My friends rave about it. Aimed at organic and locally produced foods. Bottomless blood orange mimosas on Sunday’s. Make a reservation (way) in advance.

Colt + Gray (lohi) - it was  on my denver to-do list for quite some time. it really is everything I expected and more. although you sure can’t beat going with a crew who is familiar with the head barkeep. the head barkeep by the way is a chemist. he knows what he’s doing. my favorite denver neighborhood. their new theme inspired cocktails come off the mustache menu. how’s that for fun? swanky meets al capone if you ask me. don’t skip the bleu cheese dusted gougeres.

Linger (lohi) - Overlooks downtown. “Ethnic Street Food”. Very posh. Probably a great choice for a fun girls night out.

Trattoria Stella (highlands) - It’s a smaller, funky Italian kitchen. Everything is made in-house. Perfect for a cozy girls night and a bottle of red. a favorite.

Sushi Hai (Highlands) - Very fresh, and very good by way of sushi. My suggestions are the Drop-Kick Roll and the Fire Cracker Roll.

p.s. don’t forget to check out Little Man Ice Cream okay??

Ohh and when are we on for a ski sesh at Vail?

    xoxoxo
