1. D.I.Y. Olive Oil and Honey Hair Mask

Sometimes if not all of the time the best ingredients come direct from the natural source. It’s no secret that I prefer natural ingredient based bath and beauty products, and why pay for expensive watered down ingredients when you have the real deal in your own cabinet? And with summer right around the corner now is a great time to give your hair a little boost.

Olive oil, vitamin E, and honey have long been held as natural conditionders and they work wonders on the hair and skin.

    What you’ll need:

    • 2 tablespoons of Olive Oil
    • 1 tablespoon Honey
    • A few capsules of Vitamin E
    • Saran Wrap (I recommend press and seal)
    • Paint brush/ basting brush
    • Hair clip

    Instructions:

Mix ingredients as thoroughly as possible. (Because the mixture is an oil base it will not totally incorporate) I suggest laying the saran wrap/press and seal under your hair first, and then brushing the mask through your hair concentrating at ends and avoiding your roots.

Once your hair is fully saturated, twist into a bun, wrap with Saran wrap and clip. Leave for 30 minutes.

The honey will make your hair feel stiff and sticky, but it rinses out easily. It seems to work better if you rinse the mask out with warm water prior to shampooing. Try using a gentle shampoo and conditioner as not to strip the oils out of your hair.

The results can be seen immediately, and put strength and shine back into your hair.

[This mask also works really well to revitalize your skin. Honey has natural antiseptic properties so it’s great for sensitive or break-out prove skin. Try it as a moisturizing face mask by applying a thin layer over face and letting dry for about 15-20 minutes and rinsing off with warm water]
